Welcome to King William County Public Schools!

Our newly-adopted 2023-28 Strategic Plan establishes our new mission, vision, core values, and goals, and serves as the framework for our division’s success. It also serves as a tool we can use to measure progress toward strategic goals.

We believe a high-quality public education is a fundamental right of every child.

We believe in high achievement expectations for every student, in learning spaces that foster and support each student’s identity, individuality, and ownership of their learning. We believe every student will finish high school with the knowledge, skills, and habits necessary to create a thriving future for themselves and their community. If we hope to achieve this vision, all KWCPS schools must be welcoming and nurturing learning environments where all students feel safe and supported mentally, physically, and emotionally.

We believe education is a community responsibility; students and schools will achieve success only through strong and meaningful engagement with staff, families, and community. Open, honest, and trusting relationships with students, families, educators, and the community are essential, and we will strive to nurture these relationships by being accessible, providing important and timely information and transparent communication, and by encouraging feedback to assist our process of continuous improvement.

Although our Strategic Plan outlines goals and objectives for the next five years, it remains a fluid document that captures the process of continuous improvement. Each year, the division’s leadership team will review progress and adjust a course of action to ensure progress toward goals. Student safety and success are central to our work; together, we believe we can fulfill our vision and create a bright future for every child.

We invite you to explore our Strategic Plan and encourage your active engagement and feedback as we partner to realize our mission, vision, and goals!

King Regards,

Charles A. "Chuck" Wagner, Ed.D.
