GOAL 3 - Student & Staff Well-Being

Support and strengthen the physical and mental health of all students and staff.  

OBJECTIVES

3.1 Increase support for physical, social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs of all students. 

  • Strategy 1 - Partner with the community to expand student access to programming, services, and resources that support overall well-being.

  • Strategy 2 - Integrate proactive, research-based practices into classroom and school-wide learning to strengthen student well-being.

  • Strategy 3 - Increase capacity to personalize well-being checks for students. 

3.2 Increase support for the physical and mental health needs of all staff. 

  • Strategy 1 - Develop and implement policies and practices that prioritize employee wellness.

  • Strategy 2 - Increase capacity to personalize well-being checks for staff.

  • Strategy 3 - Increase awareness and utilization of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

  • Strategy 4 -Initiate wellness fairs for support in areas such as retirement planning. 

  • Strategy 5 - Increase local and regional wellness partnerships to provide more member benefits to staff.

3.3 Enhance conditions that support a safe, secure, and nurturing learning environment.

  • Strategy 1 - Ensure that all school and division staff are trained in current, best practice safety/security protocol and procedures.

  • Strategy 2 -Foster professional development and institute Tier I behavioral support programs division-wide, such as Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS).

  • Strategy 3 -Increase resource capacity of and training for school, division, and community to manage challenging situations and behaviors proactively and  responsively.

  • Strategy 4 - Develop alternate education programs to provide academic and behavioral intervention support to students.  

  • Strategy 5 - Partner with community agencies to provide community/parental awareness sessions on a variety of relevant topics related to physical and mental  health.
